Title: “I’m Not Empty, God’s Just Making Room”
Have you ever felt like life was just… empty? Empty hands. Empty accounts. Empty energy.
Empty spirit.
I’ve been there. And sometimes, in those moments, I wonder if God has forgotten to fill me again. But then I remember this story in 2 Kings 4—a widow, down to nothing, follows the prophet’s instruction to gather jars. And not just a few. As long as there was room, the oil kept flowing. But when the jars ran out, the oil stopped.
It wasn’t that God ran out of oil—it was that there was no more room to pour.
Sometimes what we think is emptiness is really God making space.
He’s clearing out the distractions. He’s emptying the pride. He’s removing the clutter.
Because He’s preparing to pour something fresh.
You may feel like you're running on “E”—but don’t miss this: emptiness is often the sign that overflow is on the way!
So don’t despise the empty places. Make room. Get your jars ready. Because the oil is still flowing.
Reflection Question: What is God trying to make room for in your life right now?
Prayer: Lord, when life feels empty, remind me that You are the God of overflow. Help me not to panic when things are being cleared out, but to trust that You are preparing me for something greater. Make room in me for more of You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“Sometimes God empties your hands just so He can fill them with something better.”
